Howdy, after christmas I'm gonna be sending the studio2 in for some repairs. The A panel has come loose at the top seem and it's rusted there, the door hinges have also dropped, so it's pretty rusty behind the a panel. now the problem is I don't know what panels I need, I've looked on m-machine but I'm just not sure, is it just an a panel or is there a seperate bit for the hinges?

also, i can see daylight in the driver's rear pocket at the bottom, is this just the sills or does it need a new rear floorpan as well?

cheers for any help

look at the sills from underneath as well but it sounds like the sills outer and the inner sills.
the hinge panel can be brought as a repair section and is called a flitch panel i think (what i used) and covers most of the top and all of the bottom of the bulkhead behind the a-panel (which is pepearate) there is also a lickley chance that if the a-panel has come loose at the top seam that inside the scuttle blanking plate will be holey.

The hinge panel were the hinges bolt throughfor the door is actually made up of two panels, depending upon how rotten the area is you might need a Flinch panel and/or a Inner hinge panel as well.

i thought the mk 3 minis (inside hinges had only one bulkhead panel with the hinge holes included on the flitch panel? if not then i have somehow managed to repair my 86' mini with just a flitch panel!
dw the welding was done properly after those dodgey welds!

You have two panels coming together, one is the A Post Inner Hinge Panel and the other is the end of the inner wing, if the door is moving then you may need to do them both depending on the extent of the rust, usually with the inner wing you can just use the inner wing repair panels or a local patch repair

http://www.m-machine...e Repairs 2.htm
13.14.03.03 A Post Inner Hinge Panel, left hand, Mk3-5
13.14.03.04 A Post Inner Hinge Panel, right hand, Mk3-5

Inner Wing Repair Panels
http://www.m-machine...Wing Panels.htm
13.21.00.17 Hinge Panel, inner wing, left hand, Mk3-5
13.21.00.18 Hinge Panel, inner wing, right hand, Mk3-5

Also the A-panel/s as required

As 1984Mini25 says

Cheers
David
