Im about to buy the new calipers for my car so i can fit 10" wheels.
What i want to know is what size to i need to suit the wheels. 7.5" disks or 7.9" disks?
I will be running a set of supaslots that have been converted to split rims by force racing and a set of 6"x10" GBs
Thanks
Mike

So if i was to buy a set with 7.5" disks, i take it they should fit my original hubs?

if you run 7.5 disks when its time to replace them you wont have to buy turned down disks just standard cooper s

several options, 7.9" discs and modified calipers will fit =under most 10" wheels BUT this uses a standard 8.4" hub and drive setup
std cooper s 7.5" setup will fit under nearly all 10" wheels, only the odd pair it wont! BUT this uses different drive flanges to the 8.4/7.9 setup!!
it all depends what you have to start off with.

well im looking at the minisport setups and they do 7.9 solid 7.9 vented and 7.5.
Would their 7.5" kit fit my standard hubs?

no their 7.5 " 4 pot kit is for if you already have a 7.5" setup and are replacing the caliers with 4 pots.
go for the 7.9 setup. i had 8.4"s turned down to 7.9 and fiesta calipers and they fited fine with loads of clearance with th esupaslots i had.

7.9's dont fit under all 10" wheels, be carefull. The 7.5's fit under 98% of 10" wheels. The hubs are the same 8.4, 7.9 or 7.5" discs. The drive flange 8.4 and 7.9 non vented are the same, the discs are standard size or machined down, drive flange 8.4 and 7.9 vented are the same the discs are standard size or machined down, drive flange 7.5 is for 7.5 only and use only 7.5 discs.
to be honest the vented discs are a waste of time, heavy and add to the unsprung weight. Just buy a decent set of 7.5" discs and pads and use four pot calipers.

well i wold say got for 7.9" non vented as you already have a disc setup.
i think this is the more economical option. discs will be cheaper. get standard 8.4's and get them turned down to 7.9".

I can have 8.4" discs turned down for nothing, so thats not an issue.
I would have thought 7.9" setup would have been better because of the larger surface area of the disk?
Aslong as they discs fit under my supaslot splits then im happy.
