Can you convert an spi to carb spec?

Hey dudes! thanks for the info, I was needing an engine for my mini as mine is slowly but surely dying, and I saw an spi on ebay, and wondered how easy it would be to convert it to the same carb set up as my mayfair. Basically I was just needing an engine and was covering all options! I found a nice 1275 carb unit now though :D Interesting to know it could eb done though. Cheers!

if you jsut want an spi engine to go in another mini (if i read that correctly) then it is all the same and will simply cross over nicely. you may need to chop and change a few parts but its easy peasy. twin point engines arent a straiht swap tho.
