i am away to order all i need to fit the engine back into my mini as im at that stage in the rebuild.....finally.
The engine is complete apart from needing a new mechanical fuel pump. I will be ordering a stage 1 tuning kit to take care of the exhaust side of things, will be ordering from minispares as i think theres is prob the best one or it atleast uses the maniflow cooper 3 into 1 manifold for the 998 and not an LCB.
I was also going to order new engine mounts, gear selector boot seals, starter solenoid, i am a little unsure what i need to connect up the clutch, am i right in thinking master cylinder, slave cylinder and the hose bewteen them is all i'll need? i have flaring tool to make my own clutch/brake pipes.
Is there anything else i will need to get the engine in and working? i plan to do it not this weekend but next and want all the parts i need ordered so i dont have to stop half way through to order a simple thing like a mount i need.
Thanks for looking

Mounts/Seals
New engine mounts would be a good item to change, get them captive nut ones to aid fitting. Gear selector seal, rocker cover gasket, fuel pump gasket, you might want to replace the 2 seals on the DIFF outputs (pull the pot joints out of the gearbox, this is a spring loaded round seal - pain to change in situ sometimes)
Clutch
You need a master, a slave and the correct hose (pre-verto or verto depending)
Is the engine new? reconned? a 2nd hand unit?

the engine is the origional i got in the mini. it drives ok and is just in short term till i get my turbo engine built, well im basically awaiting my parts back from morspeed which he has had since february! i recieved my block back the week before christmas but not my crank, rods, pistons etc so need to try find out when im getting them back.
i just know no matter how much i try prepare i will be missing something and i wont manage fitting the engine in one go.
