so this may be a dumb question, but i won't know unless i ask:
can you fit a weber carb like this one

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...1QQcmdZViewItem

to an spi car? would you even want to? its a 94 mini 35 and i want it to go quicker!
if not what are my alternatives to get a similar performance boost?

if you do get a weber make sure you get the long manifold they work alot better, i would say that its faster than a spi, i run i 40 on mine in it makes a big difference

The webber wont make it go faster!!!!

Just go the usual tuning route.

Avoid cmas other than those for the injection, avoid 1.5 ratio rockers, avoid tunnel port heads. Make sure the injection system is working correctly.

and if your not bothered about loosing some top end speed, change the Final drive to a 3.44:1

Oh and i forgot to add, you will never get a 94 SPi through emissions fitted with a webber, NEVER!!!!! (unless you are happy to disregard the legislation (legal) and have some one pass it for you)

sprocket is right about the mot test!! will never pass emmissions test unless u get a bent mot and evn then u gotta hope you dont get road side emmissions tested!! id stick with the spi, and do as sprocket suggests, change the diff ratio to 3.44, injection cam (even tho im sure some factory injection ars ran with a kent 266) and light head mods.

if u do fit it you will need to get a distributor too as the injection computer controls ignition timing!! (poss megajolt or a 123 dizzy)

if u want to go mental with a webber, etc then u need an older block (pre cat) to get round the emmissions laws!! and a box cut in the bulkhead, that swan neck manifold is a waste of time and bhp!

Never underestimate the power of the GOOOOOOLLLLLD Side :D

As I said Mini 35's as a model rather than as a year grouping were all carb'd. Bit of an odd one tho I have to agree.

well i gues it would bolt straight on then if u wante to have a webber. timing wont be ideal because you cant use the vacuum pickup properly on a webber but it'll go and sound ok once it has been setup on a rolling road. wont be any faster than a stage 1 kit and 1 3/4" su tho!

and can someone explain the different types of carbs without confusing me any further? :D
