I started this tonight, so will get some pics up. Started drilling the spot welds that connect the bottom of the sill to the floor pan, then noticed that there is a spotweld every 1.5cm along the sill to rear quarter/door step seam! I thought, bugger that, I ain't drilling all them!

Get youself one of these, since I got one could not do without it, all you do is center punch the sport weld and then cut out the metal around the spot... This leaves a little dimple of metal still attached which can be taken off with a sanding disk in an angle grinder... this means you not actually drilling any holes in the metal which is remainging...

Right, I cut most of the sill off last night, but had to cut around the jacking point in the middle. Are the more spot welds in this or what?

jammy there were about 6 spot welds around my jacking point and they can be a PITA to get off +some numpty had welded around the hole in the jacking point so i had to grind that as well
New pic to show were the spot may be (good luck Aaron)

when i put the new sils on my car i had drilled all the way through the inner/outer sills, then when i put the new sill into place i welded it from the inside of the car, a lot better and you are not on your back all the time

Well the shell is currently bare and resting on its side, so I'm working at head height.
But I'm still not sure how to get that jacking point off...?!

Oh right, so you take the whole thing off? The outer sill doesn't come away from the jacking bit?
