Hi all TMF
i buy a set of KAD's 4 pots and 7,9 vented discs, now my question is, which drive flange should I use? the rover ones ( for 8.4 discs) or the Metro turbo ones?? exist any diferences between this two?
pls let me know, to buy the correct ones and fit it!!!
cheers

Yes there is a differece. i would say ue thestandard rover ones not the turbo ones.
Turbo ones are desiged to push the disc further out from the hub as they used for vented discs.
Best to check with KAD though to be 100%

i am in the same process at the moment.. if the disks are the same size as the metro turbo disks (vented) then the metro flanges are needed. to be honest the bloke above prob knows alot more about minis but if the disks are the same thickness as metro vented disks then u will defo need metro flanges as the disk will sit to far back inside the caliper and u wont be able to get any pads in... this is a pic from my mini with the wrong flanges on standard flanges but i had to space the caliper backwards to get the disk in the middle.. hope it helps

the flange is to mount the disc further away from the hub. where have you put the spacer in?
i will put up some pics of normal flanges and turbo flanges as a comparison.

the pic is of vented disks with standard flanges on i had to put spacers at the back in between the caliper and the hub because the disk sat to far back in the caliper.. if that made sense.. now ive got turbo flanges and it does pull the disk away from the hub which is right now it sits in the middle of the caliper.. its a ball ache because i had everything powdercoatedaswell now ive just fitted my turbo flanges today...

easy way to sort this.. the kad calipers are the same design as the ap lockhead turbo ones basically... u need to find out if the vented disks u are using are the same thickness as the metro turbo 8.4 disks if so. your aswer is DEFINATLY use the metro flanges.. dont go down the same road i did.. now i have standard and turbo because i up.lol

here are pics of the differences between metro turbo flanges and mini flanges.
turbo is on the left in all the pics.
@mini mad daps, i hope you didnt drive the car when you had normal flanges n as there would have been a big gap between the bearing and the drive flange.
