massive nut on the end of the shaft....
in the gearbox (the shaft that carries all the gears, and connects into the speedo drive spindle)? I think I need a deep 1 1/2 balljoint socket, but just want to check!
I'm taking a gearbox apart today and need to get that undone!
I would have searched, but I don't think "big nut on end of gearbox shaft" would have yeilded many results!
What size is my....

Well thats good then. At least the topic fulfilled its secondary role, although no sign of the primary purpose being ticked off yet!
Spose I could always measure it with my digital caliper (no magnifying glass needed!
) when I get home.

That was the first place I looked! 
Which is where I got the idea that it was a 1 1/2 deep socket! But since I couldn't find the bit where it said 'put the 1 1/2 deep socket onto the massive nut on the shaft with all the gears on it' I just wanted to check!
