On removal of the flywheel ive noticed that quite a few of the teeth or a bit bent. How can I sort this can you buy a new set of teeth and do they neeed to be super heated to get them off and back on again?

ahhhhhh inertia I think would that be right with a pre verto clutch, starter is just a single chunky cylinder coke can size but longer.

The the edges which are towards the diaphram are shaped ( on new ones, nice angled sort of teeth ) but do tend to round off, the angle is there to help the com' engage, like a dog tooth....
In the pic below the inertia ring on the top, pre engaged on the bottom, you can see the angle (*cough wear*) of the tooth edge...

Ok cheers for the reply guessworks, ive taken a few rubbish photos so you can get the drift, its definately not just wear and tear. There is a number written on the flywheel which ive taken a photo of too and of the starter.
What do you reckon?

yes you can fit a new starter ring gear, grind or chisel the old one off and put the ring gear in the oven and the flywheel in the fridge and when hot/cold fit the new ring gear but make sure it is on square.
a machine shop can fit one for you and it does not cost a lot.
some people can get them off with out damage and put it back on turned round.
