I'm sure this had been posted but I couldn't seem to find it in search. what color were the engines for a 1980 998cc and does anyone know the color code? also, a good place to buy this would be great as well.

Somerford minis will ask you what engine size, what model of mini, and year, form this they will search their database and are able to give you the correct engine colour for the year.

They supply the correct engine enamel in tins.

thanks, i called somerford's and the color for my year and engine is black. all they had in that color is rattle cans and my painter wants it in a tin so he can use his spray gun. they refused to give me the code. i think i am going to go with the yellow which they do have in tins. it's not the original color but i think it looks better.

the guy told me they started painting the engines yellow in 1981 so I'm only a year off on the color for my 1980. i placed my order yesterday and they claimed it was going to ship today. Pix to follow when I get her back.
