Hi Everybody and especially those technical wizards out there...
My Mini, 1380cc stage 4 injection, has a particularly irritating problem...at tickover you get waves of lovely petrol smell which goes away as soon as you hit the volume pedal.
The injection is the normal mpi but rather modified with a special engine management system if that helps.
Any ideas??
Thanks
Doug

Running rich at idle ?
Maybe its just normal though, petrol is quite pungent especially if there isnt much between you and the throttle bodies and the air over them blows it in your direction.
Anyway what are you complainng about ? Petrol smells goooood

Thanks Jimmy
Petrol smell is good but not when it is so strong you daren't turn on any switches!
It goes away if you rev above 2000 so I was guessing it might be the fumes return system etc. near the petrol tank. Just guessing.

Check that all the charcoal canister hoses are connected up properly.
