if you desperately want Pioneer as a main brand in your system, then the best they offer for the money would be the 6910 6x9 speakers, the Pioneer 6500 or 7500 head unit, and then get a clifford concept alarm or similar

if madmax has sejested the 6x9s i think he has (don't know model number of the top of my head) then there £129.99 and they are wicked!!! yellow faced Pioneer are cool. but my advice is get somthing good in the front. 6x9s are fine in the back to give some backup sound but you need good speakers in the front. i have now switch my 6x9s to just run base along with my 12" sub and evey thing else is done by my front speakers.
fronts are the way to good sound. think right u face the band not put ur back to them, just the same in the car you should face the speakers.

put my 6x9's under the rear seat and they sound better than what they did in the shelf as the sub was causing em to distort. like said before get a good set up in the front before 6x9's as it will b much more benificial and sound a lot better. another point ur car is much less likely to get broken into if they cant see the stereo system. with the head unit though see if you can scrape the money together and buy an alpine one, will sound better
