hey guys , i've only gone and lost my keys to my fuel cap lol :'( , i got a new cap , is there anyway of removing the old one? i thought about drilling, picking the lock, just ramning it off, i dunno what to do, how can i get it off?

ps, any suggestions of how to get it off will be gratefull, as i am soon needing fuel

Sorry, I really shouldn't laugh, but you gotta admit, that's just hilarious!!

I'd actually recommend asking round your local Mini friends, see if any of their keys fit. I had a rather sinking feeling when I discovered that a friend of mine at the club could unlock my car with his car keys, obviously not the most secure car ever... Might be the same for the filler cap, in which case someone else's might just fit it. Worth a try.

Get your Mini owning friends to try their keys. Usually one will work. Failing that you can lever it off. It can't be too hard as one of my mates at work kept getting the petrol nicked out of his Mini.

Failing that get your local joyrider round, He'll probably have off and nick all your fuel in about 2 an a half seconds!! Little F ers!

If you can't track down a key I'd drill it out and use a big screwdriver.

I had a Volvo years ago and locked the keys in it, while waiting for the AA another Volvo driver tried his keys and it opened!!

If you drill it you could end up with small bit floating about in your petrol tank.

My Dad has got a triumph and at one of the shows they needed to move a members car but couldnt find him. Using the keys from 2 other triumphs they managed to unlock it and start it!!!

cheers fir all the help, i found my keys apparently they were under the cushion on the sofa hmm, but i never realized how easy it was to get in a mini with someone elses keys, lol, good job i got an immobiliser. anyways, cheers all, i shall not lose my keys in future, well i say that now, they're always going missing, on the other hand i fitted my new cap looks good.

Is your filler cap key not on your main keyring then? No wonder you keep losing them.
