theres 2 small bolts holding it into the subframe towards the front of the car, and a nut on the back. the back of the small bolts is a sod to get to

i've just removed mine, you have to drift the pin from the rear of the subframe as it can only come out one way.remember to remove the 11mm bolts which hold it in(there is two going through a plate which holds it all in place) on the front first otherwise it won't come out.the top arm should then come out easily(easier than the knuckle joint!)hope this helps.
by the way use rubber mallet as to not damage the thread,as i did'nt.

On a diffrent note......should my cone things be full of water?

7/16 and 11mm are basically same size, either one will work fine.just a quick question to go with big adams-how can i remove the roller bearings in the top arm?i've tried knocking them out with a long drift with no luck, what about heating them up with oxycetolyne torch?or is that a bit excessive!.

roller bearing can be a SERIOUS paint in the arse, if you dont have the correct tools.

We clamped the arm in a vice, then used a modified drift, with parts of the edge grinded, so you can get more of an angle on the bearing! if it keeps jumping off, pur a drift in from one side, then use a bar/wood/something, to put in the other side, to brace the drift onto the bearing, so when you hit it it doesnt come off!

Strangely enough if you ask the same question as the one above you will get the same answer. You have to drive it out. The only other option is to have the Rover special tool but that is not going to be easy to find.
