quick question, does the rear end of the car stiffen up when the rear alluminium bulkhead is fitted?? because at the moment the rear end shakes quite a bit up the drive without the alluminium fitted...

thanks, jacko 299

The rear does shake about a bit after the rear hoop.
The bulkhead only holds the rear quarters to the hoop, strengtheners could be fitted from the frame to the rear valence tho.

That's why I made a pipe between the boxes in the back. From here I can stiffen the back end up by making a bracket to the Zcars frame.

Maybe an Idea?!

This is what zcars have done on their race car, it is bolted to the bootlid hinge bolts and also supports the twin horizontal exhaust system.

Bit of progress from the last few months, bulkhead needs finishing but went for a drive round a car park earlier, was suprised with the amount of traction there is when accelerating in first! just digs in and goes!

ohh and think we may have a problem with the digi dash, when in use the rev counter rises as revs increase but then when backing off the rev counter reading drops until just under 2000 where it begins to stick, even if the engine revs still carry on dropping, it stays like this until the engine revs increase past the point the digi dash is stuck at but then the same happens again when backing off the throttle next time. anyone had anything similar happen??

ayup mate,

i connected the rev counter to one of the injectors (orange/black wire -pin 8 from ecu) it gives a smoother signal
then set digidash to 1 cylinder engine

ahhh cheers mate, spoke to etb earlier and they say they have problems with the 2003 engine, have ordered a part from them that will hopefully cure the problem, he mentioned trying getting a feed from the injectors to if it still play up, thanks again :w00t:

Jacko
You will be better off using the feed for the injectors as ady says. The reason behind this is down to the pulse signal to the
on-plug coils. Voltages can linger about in these type s of coils giving false info. I don't know why ETB instruct to use the coils.

You could even use the original signal wire from the ecu.
