ok , off the top of your head - how do i go about removing the gearstick from the gearbox of a 1965 minivan?

my friend and i are in the process of removing the engine and the only thing i wasnt sure on was how to get the gearstick off. :gimme:

Do you mean out in one pop with the engine or just disconnect the engine from the gear shifty set up?

On my 82 theres a roll pin you pop out then the gear selector is off the engine, but if it's a van I got no clue as I think their diffrent.

65 van, I assume Magic wand... therefore remove the gaitor from inside the car and then I think (of top of head) it's two bolts which attach the gearstick to the gearbox... maybe accessable from under the car....

yea we are taking the engine out by lifting the front of the van over it.

i have had a look at those two bolts you mention and i guessed it was just that.
