i got a 1980 mini clubman, got some mk3 doors for her as the originals were rotten as a zombie. i have put them on, however there is a about 1cm gap between the door and the seal in the top left of the door, how can i over come this problem!!

Loosen the doors securing bolts and adjust the mouting brackets?

there is a chance that the top of the door is out of shape.
what you can do is bend the door back into position.
with the door slightly open and secured so it cant move, bend the top of the door in until it doesn't have any more gap
