Cool,

Would this explain the smoke from under the bonnet though?

Thought I'd make up the new lead myself, does anyone one know the specification for how thick the wire needs to be?

Hey

All sorted now!! the battery cable was melted to the front subframe. Replaced it for £7 in total, very happy now!
