After fitting my new wheels today (6x12 superlights) iv descovered they rub on the arches when turning my steering wheel. iv done a search but i couldnt really find the answers to my questions which are, what tools do i need to cut the arch and also how is the best way to mark it out and cut them????

take a little bit at a time and make sure u have about an inch (25mm) gap at closest, that shud allow for suspension travel!!

id suggest a bit of paint /underseal, wont be seen under the arch, use angle grinder or simar!! maybe if u have a good strong pair some correctly handed tin snips, grinder is easier tho! i didnt bother with the lip, i know it removes a sharp edge but thats its only porpose really

Why not raise the suspension with some hi lows then you dont have to go cutting away at it when you decide to turn to 10 inchs alloys

Or just make sure the suspension has not sagged !!!! Be a lot easier than cutting the arches !!!!!!!!

when you decide to turn to 10 inchs alloys

because with the hi-lows if i raise them enough to clear the arch its going to be so high its going to look stupid, and why will i get a set of 10's if iv just got a set of 12x6's :D

If your cones have sagged then just replacing them with new ones will set it to the correct height and may solve your problem !!! And will also make the car handle as it should !!

cause you'll come around sooner or later that some 7x10's are so much better looking and better handling as let unsprung weight and especially to steering.

You adamant you need to chop your car to bits. Have you not read any of the advice about checking your suspension is in good order first? Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!
