Hi everyone!
I joined these forums yesterday evening so thought I should introduce myself. I'm 17 and currently saving up for my first car - a mini of course! Wanting to buy something half decent but can't wait to get stuck in with it.
Any tips on cheap insurance? Going through confused.com I couldn't get anything below £1400
Alistair.

hi welcome to TMF
you can deffinatly get a good mini for that price. The main factor is, do you want to work on it. ive just bought mine for 400 and it needs a bit work. Tips for insurance, to keep it low dont do up the engine avoid bodykits etc, and look for classic insurance

Welcome to TMF! i have had a quote for just under £600 with my 998cc on a classic policy with footman james, people have said bad things about them though as you dont get a no claims bonus as its a classic policy
EDIT: I am only 17

Having just tried to get cheap insurance for my son who`s 18 and on a provisional i cant believe what price variation there is. We tried i think every company on the planet and quotes varied from £1400 to £2700 for one year TPFT!!!.
eventually found TPFT with Direct Line for £1080 with no charge for monthly payments...still a rip off.
The rule is try everyone even if it takes weeks, prices will vary especially dependant on the area you live in. Here in the south east i know we are ripped off, you may be luckier where you live.
