This is an extract from the Technical Regulations for Xtreme Mighty Minis Class C.

5.15 C FUEL TANK/FUEL

The replacement of the standard fuel tank with an approved competition version is allowed.
The alteration of the standard fuel tank so as to have the filler neck in the confines of the
bodywork is allowed.
The relocation of the fuel tank is allowed providing it remains in the boot area and is securely
fastened.
The fuel tank must be entirely within the confines of the boot compartment.

The boot floor must form a full seal with the exception of drainage, as required by MSA Q
14.1.2 (a) & (B ).

Have you got a way round this Chris??

Might be a flippant answer from somebody who knows nothing about this but, if the engine is in the rear doesn't that make what used to be under the bonnet now in the boot. If you think laterally (spelling) a Beetle's bonnet at the front is it's boot.

Even if that is so:

The boot floor must form a full seal with the exception of drainage, as required by MSA Q
14.1.2 (a) & (B ).

You Could All Be Stuffed There. Unless You Have The Tank Up Front Completely Sealed In With Reasonable Renforcement...

Ok so the fuel tank is in the front now (now the boot) but is it approved? And sealed compartment being sealed from the driver via bulkhead maybe? And will a flush filler cap be allowed on the scuttle panel?

Anyone?

5.6.3 c Exterior:

a) The colour scheme is completely free, but the organisers reserve the right to
refuse to accept any livery and order repainting if the required standards are not
met.
B ) All lights must be taped over.
c) The fuel filler neck must be flush fitting to the panel work, or within the confines of
the boot.

d) De-seaming is allowed
e) The front grille must remain in the original position but can be made to be easily
removed.
f) Class C and E under chassis deflectors are allowed. Extra aerodynamic
aids/wings are allowed

As it just says panel work you should be fine with the scuttle.

Cheers Bounce, so I still need to know if the z-cars tank is classed as approved or would a new one have to be bought.

And any chance of getting the whole regs posted or a link to them.

Cheers
