Hey there buddy. For a whole car I would hire a compressor and a gun. I'm roller painting mine but that's because my car's an experiment There are a few people on here trying different methods,..Try using the search function this has been covered many many times
Rattle can will take some time but if you put the effort in you can get fabulous results to match any DIY spray gun+compressor job.
**TimTom... what are you on about?> wierd lines.... layered bits?.... If you get the prep stages spot on and spend time on getting the car perfect before shooting primer and colour on you'll have a good job. degrease the car thoroughly, make sure the car is evenly prepped ,...'Wierd lines' and 'layered bits' are caused by rushing and carelessness.

gotcha.... that would come down to unpraacticed spraying.... not recommended.
Always get used to the gun and settings on a spare panel or sheet of metal or something... then you don't *male chicken* up your car. simple really. practice makes perfect.

Anyone seen the Almond green car in Miniworld this month? Comes into Minispares, and that was painted with cans! A feature worth checking! I know he was working on it ages though

A DIY gun mate, £40 can buy a gun that will shoot the paint and if you put the work into the prep and finnishing, it iwll be a good job.
Of course you have a £300 gun if you're in the trade.

Rattle can FTW.
Someone said that there was a rattle can feature car in mini mag, well i may well have to take a shot at that!
I'll update my old thread soon but basically my cars been off the road for a good two months now and in this time i have been spray canning my mini, to black (apparently the hardest color to spray )
I went against almost everyone's advice and decided to spray in the cold winter months, choosing my days carefully depending on how much it had rained recently. Well, its paid off! I feel that i have got a very good job with spray cans even in this weather and i will have my car finished in a week or so.
But yes, rattle can if you wish. It's cost me around 40 quid to spray the whole car and then there's about an extra tenner put in on T-Cut (YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS, BLOODY MIRACLE WORKER!) and turtle wax
