Lookin' good. A nice old one, too. They do say that the 70s ones are a bit more solid. Keep us posted.

it was sat in this bloke's garage since 1995 and he wanted rid of it, so i took it, the engine was not seized and its only done 56,000 miles. the owner before the bloke was an old dear who only did about 250 miles a year in it, MOT certificates prove its all genuine too.
the only welding needed is the N/S sill the a panels a couple of small holes on the floor and the rear valence asnd corner of the boot floor. the bonnet needs replacing too. not bad for a 29 year old car.
i have now ordered my mega squirt ecu and i have a c/f boot floor for weight saving.

your best bet for that mate is check out
http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums
and do a search on the how to section, you can find anything you ever wanted to know about turboing minis there.
off the top of my head though you need a bulkhead box, fuel regulator ( a rising rate one) a high pressure fuel pump and tank modded with a return pipe nice and high up, also i think you need larger diameter fuel lines.
hope that helps.
DAN :ohno:
p.s you'll need to make sure you upgrade the brakes etc to match the ectra power

yer, lookin at turbominis now

those brakes look rather nice, i need some better stoppers already, i had ebc spotties and green stuff on my mazda so that stopped pretty damn good, the drums on the mini really dont do the job as well!

what do i need for discs on the front? because i guess u cant just bolt them on where the drums were, so uprigths aswell? from what cars can they be pinched?

aaron

sorry for all the questions!

you need the comlete hubs from a disc braked mini, that will have the mounts for the calipers on it. you could probably get a complete set of 8.4 discs hubs and calipers on the driveshafts for a reasonable amount from a scrappy.
if you ar running 10's you can try and get 7.5 cooper s discs (expensive) or use mk1 fiesta calipers with 7.9 discs. or you could use 4 pots on 7.9's (wont fit under all tens) there are a few options it just depends what you want to spend.
my daily driver mini has drums which arent too bad as long as you keep them set up. if you don't keep them well set they are C**p! when the fade sets in it can be scary especially coming off the motorway on a downhill sliproad with a 90degree right turn and red light at the bottom!!

rite, this is a shoppin list so far then!!
lol

i have 10" wheels at the mo, so i will be needeing some 12`s an then any disc braked model will do?

i need to get some metro drums on the back because the tyres rub the radius arms under hard cornering, its just the tyre deforming under load!!

just been out in the wet, an now with the power sorted i can have some fun, nothin like slidin and having to wait for the power to come in, all good now

if you have drums all round you will need drums with a 1" spacer on both sides at the back because the disc set up is an inch wider, you will also need longer studs for the back wheels to ensure the wheel is still safely tightened down. you could get those from any disc brake equiped mini.
stick with the tens!!! they look better!
by the time you've bought new 12's and the brakes you might as well have spent the extra on some that fit under the 10's
also if your car has always had ten's the speedo may read wrong on 12's but i don't really know.
