Righteo, im currently at the 14th month mark of a mammoth bare shell rebuild.

Here is how she was before the rebuild after i had just refurbed her alloys

Only downside was...

Anyhow i garaged her...



and found myself a donor shell.. not entirely perfect


but it isnt all that bad either

Here are the worst bits.

I was also stockpiling a lot of parts for the time i had the car on the road.

to give an idea of the detail to come i went as far as to add grease nipples to the hi-lo's

Finally Got the donor shell somewhere i could work on it and work commenced







Bear with it if not all the writing makes sence from here on in as a lot of it is coppied and pasted

airvents gone,


took the wiper wheel boxes off,,,, think it might need replaceing?


No more wiring loom

and here are the only other nasties that we found to date under the arches...





right had a bit of a "clean up under the shell in a few places... and going to be playing with this for the rest of the week i should think.

The other side in better state but very hard to get the wire brush in there...

Anyhow,

Grinded away a bigger patch under the arch, with the flat disk, then went over with the brush to get anything out of the pits where it had surface rust.

Then slapped etch primer over the areas that where spotles...

Sooooo

Tadaaaa!!!!!

did more cleaning on the door step and the pilar









then it went dark so i had to stop.

But i think i did good concidering the time i spent about 2 hours at it.

one rougly ground down sill.

Well,
one dead grinder

but i did finish what i was trying to do which is lucky







De rusted to the best standard posible.

did a tiny weeny bit of the heel board. and it looks good

TOP TIP : use a blowlamp to get seam sealer off!!! its much easier than risking a million degree napalm when using the grinder.

cleaned out this bit??? ( heelboard????)



and this bit of the rear valence.

Then gave it the standard lick of etch primer for protection before seam sealering , and stone chipping.





Had to leave the patch around the shock mount till i can get a shot blaster in there

Um, here are the hubs ive got









April showers gone as fast as they come



did the O/s door step and a pilar today



then went to go get a new wire brush for the angle grinder... out of stocK!


so got this to try for up inside the arches etc was only £2.99



and also got myself a new toy



least if i break it now its mine and i dont care :lol

didnt get mucho done

finished cleaning the floor on the top side

then plasterd it in etch primer

tadaaa
