if you dont come back from this trip with some good stories to tell then you did something wrong.

you have to be ok with the fact that you might not live throught it! no one has been killed yet but a few people have been shot at, stoned, had a beating (one was from cops,) nasty car accidents, run of the road (one incident was after an argument one team had over a water melon!) and another team thought it would be funny to do cow tipping in Kygyestan, and they ended up being threated (by cops) to let a dwarf beat them up!!
ohh and another team had to reverse up a mountain after loosing all but one forward gear!
expect extream tiredness, dust, sand, more dust and sand, some real horrible people, some amazing life changing experiances, some really cool people, some more nasty people, a good team spirit and more sand, dust and tiredness!!!

expect it to take around 5 weeks. mostly 5.5
they dropped us off at a town first. we were going to get a train from there but it wasnt easy. the station didnt want to sell us a ticket or even help us. the closest airport didnt have flights for 4 days so we ended up paying a random guy the equivelant of £80 to take us from kazakstan, into russia and drop us iff at an airport there. we had already bought tickets in kazakstan so knew there was a flight.
so other guy who spoke broken english helped us out and sorted everything. it was his mate that drove us. the guy was a legend. he was a life saver!
also he took us around his business, showed us how he does his banking each day and took us to his house for dinner. he then had a call and had to dash off back to work for half hour. so he left us in his house with his 7 and 11 year old daughters and told them to cook us dinner while he was out!!! that just wouldnt happen in uk!
he did later make a joke / half serious comment about us marrying his daughters! we quickly changed the subject!
that the main reason why you want to go isnt it jammy? Find yourself a nice kazakstanie bride?!
