i'm new to this forum but am doing the rally this summer, also in a mini ('83 mini city, 100 quid, was bust but got it running, drove it home, pulled up to house and all the oil fell out the bottom. sh*t. no mot either, do you know if we definitely need to get it done?)
what are you going to do to your mini , if anything, and what team are you? i'll look you up on the website.
i'm going with my sis, we're team flamboyant.
peace

Congrats on getting a place, make sure you get lots of photos!
Regarding the MOT, you start in London and drive on public roads, so yes, you'll need an MOT
