1275 head on 998

does any one know what head i can get and will just bolt on with out pocketing the block ???

Yeah, as said above, go for a stage 2 or something, you'll get a decent performance hike from one as long as your car is then tuned to suit it.

A Mini Cooper 998 /MG 1100 head (casting number 12G295 is the better version) is very good and needs no work done to the block but the head iteslf needs work to make it useable.

Is the 295 the one with the bigger combustion chambers? Meaning it would need a skim to get the CR up?

Both of the Cooper 998 heads, that is the 295 and the 206 have 28.3cc chambers (good memory Leonard, I have to look these things up) but the 295 is the better lump of iron. The 206 is more like a standard 998 head I believe but with the bigger chambers to accomodate the high top pistons.
