Yeah.. I've got an HIF44 but fancied something a bit different. Plus they sound nice..You could slap it on, it would perform OK. But with the current mods a HIF44 would eb more than enough really. I guess it's somewhat down to personal taste too.
So long as it wouldn't adversely affect performance, I'd go for it.

My manifold (minispares 5") was about £60 I think. I paid £25 to get the carb re-jetted and have a new linkage fitted, that was on a Weber 45 DCOE, but I'd imagine prices would be similar.

It depends on how the carb is set up too, I mean there are jets that'd possibly have to be changed, maybe the choke sizes etc. I'd go for a minimum of 5" manifold really (straighter and longer is better apparently). Allow a bit of moolar for getting jets, chokes, manifold, tuning etc.

Yeah I mean it would have to be re jetted and a new mini linkage, as it's off a BMW. It's only gonna cost me £30 for the carb, so I could spend a wee bit on getting it set up right. There's always fleabay for the inlet fa**y mould..

unless you have more work done to the engine id leave it for the time, might be an idea to get the carb now and store it, wheni bought mine it was in bad state accelerat pump(i think it was) was messed up i had to buy a donor unit to get bits from and i was just a bit anoyed at deciding i want it

Hmm I was worried about that. Ah well might stick with the ol' HIF.ah i had dellorto 40, southam mini and metro centre had trouble finding parts for a 1275 in such low tune, ran like C**p used £5 to go about 15 miles or less
