my 1330 in theory should get at least 100bhp, but for that im also fitting a great wooping weber carb, straight cut box and a pretty direct diff on it! so say bye bye to peformance

one suggestion would be to see what you would use the mini for, if its for shorter runs then go for speed and peformance as who cares if it guzzles fuel, your having fun on teh shorter runs

if not i agree with others, fit a different final drive, and a smaller capacity engine etc.

Doh, why don't the spaces show >

I'll have you know my turbo's very economical, hardly used any petrol at all as I'm still building it after many years >_<

The turbo Metro did have better economy figures than the MG Metro.

yer, its because the chav drivin the metro turbo only got from his drive to the nearest tree, so could use the rest of the tank =p

I thought Metros were so uncool even chavs won't have one.

BL really did quote better figures for the Turbo.

its like....for example.....the cow walks, with a bag full of grass in its stomach, to make the cow faster to run, its gonna need 3 bags of grass, or 1 bag of grass for 20seconds of running, yet 1 bag of grass on walking would last a lap of the whole field, so to run the whole field the cow would need to stop every 20 yards and eat a bag of grass.

.......dn't ask me where shes getting the bags of grass rofl

But I can get around 50mpg from the 1275cc engine fitted to my 90' Mainstream and that came with the basic type of MG Metro fitted as standard.

Okay it has the 3.1 final drive instead of the 3.44, but that's about it and mine has a Maniflow LCB and exhaust plus a K&N cone filter and a slightly richer needle but hasn't been anywhere near a rolling road as of yet.

wilcooper, your so random lol

we got alot cows over here on jersey, i could put that theory to the test if you want >_< im not making them run around though! haha

redfish whats the finance like, because you know most things are possible with a little money, ive heard of a biofuel 1.6 (dont remember engine type) conversion a while ago running about 100bhp, and that had great mpg and price per litre, but wasnt cheap

IMO bhp dont mean nothing. its about how u want the car to drive. you want good mpg and good performance. why not build a tuned road spec motor and maybe try saving weight on everything as its the power to weight ratio that really matters. make sure everything is working efficiently i.e the carb, head not cruddy, tyre pressures, tracking etc. im sure a heavy 100bhp mini would be worse on mpg and performance than a 70bhp light mini. be carefull where the 100bhp figure lays in the rev band too, its no good to u if its at 6000rpm
