think i have managed to save it, panic over lol
One question, how do you photoshoppers merge colours i.e. if you lob a different colour bumper on a car. Do you take all the colour out of the picture and start again with another colour or a different way?
Because in paint.net i don't seem to be able to do that, my only options are altering the saturation, hue and lightness which makes matching colours almost impossible. Unless there is an obvious method i am missing?

I tend to just play about with the hue/saturation or colour balance things - and then blend the two in together by using the "blur"/"smudge"/"clone" tools.
Either that or i'll airbrush it

try draining the saturation...so just the bumper is greyscale
and then going back to the colour balance and adding yellow?

With the program i use... I have a tool that creates a boundry... anything on the other side of the boundry will be tinted a certain colour, so yellow or blue, then i can alter how harsh the line changes the colour.. soft etc, so a gentle colour change has a soft outline to it and is a gradual change from yellow to blue...
I'm looking forward ot the entries yay!

orrrr...
Turn both greyscale - match up the contrast, tones etc...
then add the colour to the whole lot!
