i have metro 4 pot under my 10x5 wellers i have spaced them an inch, but this will shorten the life of ball joints and wheel bearings, but the wheels still fit under group 2 race arches

But doesn't the inch spacer mean that the the discs and calipers don't actually sit inside the wheel where they're meant to be, instead the wheel sits outside them?.

8.4 brakes wont fit on 10" revos.

You need either a 7.5 cooper S set up, or a 7.9 set up.

Money wise,... here's a cheaper option that is potentially offerning better braking than the Cooper S set up anyway! CLICK HERE.

Why would you want to? I don't understand the fascination with Metro calipers at all, they aren't very good. And Fiesta calipers are only really worthwhile because they are cheap which isn't the best reason to choose anything. The best braking under 10s comes from a 7.9" setup with custom alloy 4-pots, vented if you really must.

money is the problem lol as i have only £300 for the breaks lol would love to have alloy calipers and 7.9 disks have lookd at these they look mint but again im on a budget 300 for breaking £200 susspension and hilos then once all that is done in for a spray job and rebuild my engine lol

That's not always a bad thing is it?... particuarly in this case, since there isn't any variation of the quality of the calipers Ford made, and neither are there cheap fakes available. In my opinion the Fiesta conversion Is attractive because not only does it allow you to use 7.9 discs (larger than the CooperS as you know) but they also have larger pads than the CooperS setup, Whilst they are cheap, this doesn't have a detrimental effect on the quality of braking, unlike other 'cheap' items such as non KAD quickshifts that ARE worse at the job they are designed to do when compared to standard equipment.

I know I'd rather spend £100 on doing a Fiesta conversion that runs larger discs and larger pads when compared to the CooperS system that costs £300 and leaves you with smaller brakes...

For £300 you can buy a set of alloy 4 pots that will fit under 10" wheels.

what really boils my *yellow human water* is the way everyone says dont put an inch spacer on so your 10" wheels clearyour 8.4" setup...yet everyone raves about the :( japanese wheel with a 1" spacer built in, whats the difference? both are a bodge, lol.

I'm running a modded 8.4" setup under my 10x6 wellers with no spacers...

If you got 300 notes... minispares do a 12" to 10" conversion kit. Cooper s setup. I have just purchased and have installed. Still haven't got the wheels back on yet as it is floated on axle stands in the garden at the moment!!!

But then you have to use smaller discs and can't have vented brakes. If you have that money you can just buy some alloy callipers to fit the standard hubs and flanges and get some cut down discs. Then you can upgrade them to vented later on if you find you need to.

Personally I slate that Japanese wheel as mush as I slate deep dish alloys or large spacers. They all destroy the geometry.

Some of the people who have fitted the Fiesta setup are finding it to leave something to be desired. I freely admit though that I don't know too much about it and haven't fitted any myself or driven a car fitted with them. It just winds me up that people seem to just assume that a Cooper S setup is going to cost a fortune which it really doesn't and go for the Fiesta route instead. Cooper S calipers are about £100 each new. People seem to think there are loads of extra costs to add but if you already have discs there isn't too much. It just gets to me a bit, it's my own problem and I have to deal with it!!
