Painting Dash Rails

Is there any paint available that will stick well to my dash rails as im fed up of them being grey and black ones seam pricey these days?
Also the same question for my column shroud and clock surround?

I have read on here that you can use vinyl paint, from halfords, for roof linings. So i guess it will work the same way for the dash rails.

Iv just covered mine mate....
used a heat gun to take the black vinyl off then covered it in bergundy vinyl....

That's nice jim!
I sprayed my top dash rail with Plasticote gloss black. Worked fine, never peeled, never came off or anything.... A vinyl paint would be best though.
Frost UK sell it. and it's pricey...

i did sunshines with normal car paint, then applied a couple of layers of laquer aswell

yeh u can get it from e-bay, or your local upholstery shop, or fabric warehouse....
Its like cloth vinyl not sticky back rubbish....

Im just about do recover mine as it had loads of holes in and I wanted rid of the ashtray.
Big_jim did you use the clips that come on it? did you also glue it down if so what with?

I sprayed mine, while they were still in the car
Just used black vynal spray paint from halfords, think it's about a tenner a can! and that did both top and bottum, with plenty left over!

Ok, First i used a heat gun to heat up the black plastic vinyl stuff that on there, this melted the glue and made the plastic flexable, it just peels off then leaving the foam underneath...
then i used upholstery/carpet fitters spray glue (available in cans, from local carpet shops)
laid on the vinyl and used the existing clips to make sure it doesnt move when it gets hot in the summer...
hey presto, looks like new....

Im just about to collect a bottom rail so i havent covered one yet.... but it will be done in the next few fays, i will get some pics up...

Thanks for the tips everyone. I think ill get myself some of the vinyl paint and if that turns out gash ill have a crack at recovering them
