I seemed to have developed a squeak on my rear right wheel, a bit of an annoying one at that. So far I have removed the radius arm and checked (no problem there), WD'd every pivot point I can find, (still there) So the only thing I can think of is the shock absorber as it happens when the weight is put back on the wheel after lowering the jack down. Any idea's before I start stripping the hub assembly down (really dont want to go down that road)

Simon.

is the radius arm greased properly? they do take a lot of grease in them.

could be the shock. does it loks corroded or anything?

Pumped shed loads of grease into the radius arm. shock dont look corroded but they are Koni's and they look like they are the originals since the car was built in 2001, thats why im inclining down the shock route.

well, my shocks are original C**p ones and they are 18 years old and fine....

and considering they are koni i would expect them to last longer than that.

so does it happen when you are driving, change with speed or when you go over bumps or what?

When I go over bumps its more prominent especially at slow speeds, and when I get in and out of the car

well, im not that clever but couldnt you switch the reas shocks around, and then see if the squeek develops on the other side instead, hence showing wether its the shock or not?

well at least it should rule out if its the shock or not. if its not then at least you can move on to other stuff. seeing as its the rear, and you describe it when going over bumps, i struggle to see how it could be to do with the hub. its gotta be either shock or radius arm, and as you said you've already serviced that.

let us know anyway
