hi, as the title says. i tried a seach because i know somewhere here there is a pic of an A series engine mounted in a z cars front subframe. i just cant bloomin well find it!

anyone know where it is or have any knowledge of this setup?

Or you could just buy a proper tubular front subframe designed for the A series and standard suspension. I think Fast Carl used to make them in ally and titanium versions, and a coil-over version of each.

Just last night i was thinking about how easily an A series would go in the Zcars rear frame, didnt think about the front! but hey, if it fits both!

Also would you maybe be able to get 2 in the back? like that twin r1 mini?

i believe z-cars do make a front subby designed for the A-series, with all that fancy *cant remember what its called* suspension set up. If fact, i'm dead certain they do, because its on the minibuilder DVD - whether its the same frame as the bike/vtec conversions i dont know....

Yep, they definitely do one that fits. I saw Z cars at a show last year or the year before, and they had a Mini there with their tubular subframe and an A series engine fitted in it....

Yep, its my new toy. Its a 1970 fastback with a 7.5 litre big block V8. Bit different to a Mini...

yea the car was really cool, until a stupid gate post got in my way!

the car is currently up at zcars being fixed

The subframe was at Bingley Hall last year.
