Are you thinking of 'dijon suspension'?i believe z-cars do make a front subby designed for the A-series, with all that fancy *cant remember what its called* suspension set up.

is the subframe strong enough (on its mountings) even though it doesnt have any 'brace bars' like the standard subframe? (i mean the ones you add on).

on a normal standard subby?Considering I have run my car for nearly 3 years without any brace bars I'd say it'll be fine....
if its fine after 3 years then cool. make me wonder why the need for brace bars was there in the first place. MOT reasons?

Never failed an MOT so I assume its fine.
I did throw a few extra fixings through the bulkhead behind the exhaust tho.
