Don't worry I never realised it was a leather cover and I always assumed it was a new type of dash rail.

how well do the rails come up if you spray them? do they look like they were meant to be that colour or do they look a bit tacky? was thinking cream or blue to match the car and interior

ive seen it before in 106's and saxos and ive always thought it looks tacky! but then again these were all done by spotty teenagers that have only been driving for a couple of days and think there gods gift on the road cause they can beat the local pizza delivery man on his honda moped off the lights with there dartford tunnel like exhausts that you could park any mini in!!

SORRY RANT OVER

yea im sure if you know how to handle a spray can you could get an alright finish dont quote me though!

phil :dozing: :dozing:  ;) :-

i did it to my first car a 998 mini may fair the interior was a nasty nicotene yellowy/cream colour

i used a can of black spray vinyl from halfrauds and it came realy well make sure u rub it down with some IPA or somthing similar to degrease it all before u spray and dont try and cover it all in 1 coat !!

i was supprised at the results u couldnt tell the differance !!!!! make sure u mask every thing off as i did it in the car with about 5 newspapers gaffertaped over everthing, steering wheel, windscreen, carpet, roof lining etc......

vinyl spray works, but in some light it shows up bits youve missed, if you have

i did front and back seats in my mini from brown to black, back seat looks ace, but am changing it for one with a different stitching pattern and fronts have already gone

u can use vinyl spray as the cheap alternative, but just be patient and dont rush, and thoroughly make sure areas being painted are dry and clean, use meths or something then soapy water then leave to dry for a few hours, like everyone says, the finish all depends on the prep, good luck!

oh yeah and u may struggle to find cream vinyl spray! your usual colours are red, grey, blue and black, well in halfords anyway!

I dunno really,

i think it would have to be about £70ish on an exchange basis...

you send me yours and i will send you a covered set back....

sorry its a bit steep guys but there is about half a metre of vinyl and a good couple of hours to get it right...

thanks
Jim

sprayed mine with bumper and vinyl paint came up well. you'll have to do thin layers and about 3 or 4 of them so the viynl efffect shows through

heres mine before

and after

Looks quite good i think. if you get the right clobber it finishes nice not tacky at all. scratches easily though

Hope these help !!
