if i rub down my subbys with a wire brush, and brush on a drill and get rid of all the rust and dirt, and the degrese them
would it then be a good idea to give them a coat of black hammerite and waxoil after its dry.
does that sound like a good idea and has anyone got any tips for painting subbys??
cheers
what shall i paint my subbys with??

Doesnt have to be black
Ive used POR 15 Anti rust paint on mine, and im going paint chassis black anti-chip stuff over that, por15 likes to run tho so be careful
Hammerite does the same job and is easier to get hold of but you need waxoyl or underseal or something on top of it to make it last
Frost sell por15 www.frost.co.uk halfords/wilco/homebase etc do hammerite

word of warning for anyone gonna use hammerite.......
DONT SPRAY OVER IT STRAIGHT AWAY!!
i hammerited mine in yellow, looked ok but a bit blotchy in places so i sanded the rough parts down and got yellow spray paint to make it look nice but the spray reacted! so i sanded the bad bits down and hammerited in black.
a few months later i was messing about with some black spray paint i had but i sprayed a bit on the subframe and it was fine! now ive nearly done a full coat of black spray and its not that bad, so now thinking of going over it in red/orange/yellow then use clear waxoil stuff
apparently hammerite takes a few weeks to 'set' and dry properly
