Hi everyone,
Just bought my first mini. Got it for £500 10 days ago and have spent £750 getting it working and through it's MOT! I am totally new to car restoration but I've always wanted to own a mini s and am finally in a position where I can spend a bit of cash sorting one out properly.
My HAYNES manual is on it's way as are several new parts from various online mini stores.
Any advice is totally wlecome
Regards,
Matt.

What plans have you got if any? or are you unsure?
Have a look through the projects section im sure that will give you some inspiration.

Thanks for the warm welcome
Plans are to learn as much as I can so I can do alot of the work myself and to get my car to a state where I would be happy to drive it all the way to suffolk .
Seriously though I'd like to restore it to a really nice condition. It does already have a 1275cc metro engine but was originally a 998cc Mini City E. I'd like to take off the faux cooper stripes and cheques (checks?) so it looks like a normal mini and not a cooper but with a little hidden horse radish. I'd like some extra shiny new chrome, but not too much. I'd like a black leather interior without it looking like something out of MAXPOWER! I think basically I'd like it to look stylish and fast without being crass. I've already removed all the carpets and underlay (with mushrooms) the horrible fake walnut dash, gear knob and steering wheel but I have been left with a slightg "rally" feel! Coulple of technical issues to sort out and then I reckon I can use it daily.
I love looking at everyone's piccys as it spurs me on to complete mine and all ideas are welcome.
So again thanks for a big warm welcome and look forward to seeing you all around.
Cheers!
