hi bods, ive just bought a c reg mini city e, its done 68000 miles from new, engine is sound, but when i bought it i knew the front panel was rotten.
but me and my dad set about repairing it, we have since found in 3 days the front wings are rotten, the front panel is rotten, the bulkhead is rotten by the drivers door( been filled with cag and silicone.) the drivers door is rotten, full of filler!, rear valance has come away from car, drivers sill has rotted off and was only held on with fibreglass!, passenger a panel is rotten and was only held on with expanding foam and filler that was sprayed to match the car so it couldn't be seen! there was a hole in the passenger side front inner arch, hole in the drivers floor at the front.
but in all its not too bad!
its in black and i paid £200 for it, anyone reckon i paid way over the odds for this?
all the major bits are solid and the car is mechanically sound! the engine and box are sweet as a nut!
whatcha reckon?
:)

hey welcome to the site!!

with the current things u have said wrong it seems that a certain amount of welding filling prepping and spraying needs to be done? if you are any good in these areas brilliant!! if not it could cost a bit to get done!! but all in all it seems like you got yourself an ok car, doesnt seem you really paid too much because with some TLC and a few new panels you will have a tidy car

hope this helps cheers Nick

min is done, now its up for sale to fund my new mini project, found a mini thou, with an ex rally 1275 motor in it, and its been reshelled with a j reg cooper shell! £125 get in!!!!!
also just had the rent figures through for when i was doin the mini,
£150 2 weeks rent!
£50 welding materials!
£50 underseal, seam sealer consumables
£30 paint.
so its cost me a lot more than i thort. but new project is here and will be starting that, but to fund it i now need to sell me min ive just done.
its the way it is, unfortunatly! :) :) :)
