Well i have recently took my head off my car to decarbonise and genrally clean and also paint a few bits (check out my project section for details) !! however when i painted the head and other parts i found i got a sort of matt/powdery finish i have been using halfords heat proof paint (spray cans) as i thought this would be best and normal paint would melt under the high temp has anyone used this paint before or could anyone recomend a good paint???
Painting the engine bay!!

High temp engine enamel, or just Hight temp spray paint would be fine such as the hlaford stuff you mention. The engine bay itself doesn't really get that hot as there's plenty of air space between the engine and the bulkhead etc..
But yeah... any hight temp paint. You'll have to make sure the Bay is spotless and greaseless before apinting though, or the paint wont stick at all.
