There have been a few post about mentioning people with alarms that when unlocking the car from the key fob, lower the window so that there is no need to have door handles. Does anyone know what alarms have this feature as when I get round to fitting my lightweight doors i wanted to leave them without handles.
Cheers

It might be a bit tricky to fit all that gear inside a Mini door, they're quite thin.

it is possible. a company called Python Alarms makes the right kit im sure...
its hard work getting it all set up though, weighty too

wouldnt have thought it was that heavy the only parts in the door would be the central locking actuator, the electric window kit and the main weight being the glass window. All the rest would be electronically controlled by the alarm at some other position in the car.

there is a solenoid to release the door, then there is the window motor which weighs a reasonable bit, but if your after comfort and performance, weight is not going to be of critical value to you.

I dont want a solinoild to open the door, just a cenreal locking motor to unlock it, the window then winds down and the door is opened via the inside handle.
On the topic of reduce weight your right its not my main concern but that doesnt mean i want to go adding weight on.
I was under the impression that the electric window kit weighed less than the winder mechanism, this is deff. the case with other cars maybe not the mini.

electrical window winder mechinish is heavier than the mechanical one. The mechanical one is pritty light and very simple just stamped ally
