What will fit and what's best for your engine are different matters. Any DM2, 23D4, 25D4, 45D4 (and probably others) will fit. Virtually any 4-cylinder Lucas distributor for the A- or B-series engines (not A+) will fit and will work. However, which advance curve is best for your engine can only be determined by dyno tuning. Since this is for a 1275GT, you could consider the 23D4 (centrifugal advance only) dizzy from the Cooper-S. Is it right? Who's to say? If you're using this as a street car, a 25D4 or 45D4 with vacuum and centrifugal advance would probably give you better fuel economy and reasonable performance (look for something out of a mid-1970s MG Midget before the switch to the 1500 engine). After that you open up the door to aftermarket dizzys... all of which will cost more than a good, used Lucas unit.
