Hi, all thought I'd start a project topic as I've been working on my van quite a bit recently...been sorting a carpet out, thought Id do one myself. Got some new seats, still have to fabricate mounting brackets/subframes for them but in the pic, i have just placed them in for now.

anyway, pictures tell a thousand words:

they fit real good as u can still recline in them as others ive seen get stuck behind the c pillar. they have nice leather and stiched real nice, also having sat in them very huggy and will hold you round tight bends I bought them from a wharehouse that had overstocked them so I think they are rare to get now.

I have been thinking of what to do in the rear of the van as i would still like to lug things about but there is vast amount of metal that resonates when doors are shut or people are talking, so I'd like to line the interior with carpet and vynil headlining... the seats will recline forward to maximise space in the back so i thought of making the floor padded in case i need to sleep in my van... have any of you guys got any ideas for the space in the back?

also im thinking of saving up for a professional respray, what colour do you think would be best? All black, silver, dark gunmetal ish, or stay same just get it rejuvenated?

Jobs for MOT still to do:

Throttle cable
Brakes need bleeding, adjusting or new shoes/drums
tiny hole under sill, needs cutting to good metal and a bit of metal welding on.
going to sand down my wellers and respray same colour, or pay for powdercoating.

anyway I will post pics of any updates, as I am going to make subframes for the seats next! just making cardboard templates for now

Thanks for the good feedback :D, charlie

Welcome to the Van Club!

What sort of thing you thinking of for the rear? I'm looking into Sound deadings, and paneling it out with ply, then covering it in something...

Camp freddy: I got them from the guy who used to be in business with that same wharehouse i think but yeah its those.

for the back of the van, i want to do sound deadening, then board it out in hardboard with foam on top, then similar cover it in something... but i might get my mum to do some clever stitching, like the van in the miniworld at the moment (vertical lines) but we'll see yet...

After 2 years of this being in my garage, Ive finally started work on it :D

The reason for it being garaged was because of the brakes (being drums) were TERRIBLE! ...(wich led to a few scary moments!)

So I bought these :

Whilst replacing the drums etc I decided to take the suspension arms off and refurb them, and get new bushes.

The only thing is, the new bushes sit very proud of the arm..... is this Normal???? what do I need to do to get them to sit?

like this:

Anyway, still waiting for some new track rod ends, and new lower arm pins to be delivered, then I can start to put it all together :D
