front driveshafts

what do you do for the front driveshafts as they arnt long enough to meet in the middle? ( not that it make a difference if they did i suppose)
do i assume you have 1 long one made up from...... somewhere?

Why? If the engine is in the rear you just remove the driveshafts and leave the outer CVs.

Well I done what rover did when they built the MGF. Just hollowed out the cv joint.

Mounted the magnets for the speedo on the outside of the cv. Worked fine.
They are pretty hard to machine unless they are annealed then re hardened.
