I'm sure I read in a recent comic that someone fitted a Maesto A series complete with the original gearbox (ie 5 speed)
Anyone know anything about this as it seems a desirable way to go - 1275 A+ engine and 5 speed box.
Thanx
Steve

Yes it is a A series with a 5 spd box.... but

Major modifications to your car will be required.... even though it's an A series it's like fitting a whole different power unit...

1. the gearbox is on the side of the engine ( ala modern fwd cars )
2. the engine is rotated by 180 degrees ( carbs at the front ) or you'd be going very fast backwards
3. because the gearboxis different, all you drive shaft components etc will need to be manufacturerd...

4. why bother.... for the same amount of hassle you could fit a 1400 k Series with a lot more poke !
