Have you considered a set of wheel arch flares instead of new wheels?

If you're trying to get the wheel under the arch then there's only one wheel which will do it... A cooper S rim.. ( not a reverse rim )

However there is now an alternative... Minisport do som alloy replica's ( not the jap import ones which are meant to fit over 8.4" disks ) which are a lot cheaper than you'll find S rims...

I've got 10" x 4.5" minilites on mine with spacer drums and cooper discs up front and they fit under the bodywork with no arches just fine.

Hadn't thought of that, when using std 12" rims, they fit under the arches... well with 145 tyres they do.. not so sure about 165's

It's just a matter of finding the right rim width and offset.

genuine minilite alloys, not sure of offset without looking it up, i've got 165 tyres on there too and they do stick out a tiny bit but they passed an MOT no probs.

you can just about make out the extent to which the tyres stick out from this shot on the rolling road.

hope this helps.
