The charade gtti was a laugh to drive but as with any small car with a turbo you had to rev the nuts of it to get anywhere, no torque but plenty of top end power.
The fabia I have will shortly be pushing 195bhp and still do 65mpg, lazy mans car with bucketfulls of torque!!!

Erm, where do I start.
Started at 13 years old - Dad's old cars that he just left and I played with, fixed then he took them back
Triumph 2500 Mk2 Pi (Dad sold it)
Mk1 Escort mexico (Dad wrote it off)
Mk 2 Mini, 850 I think (Sold to Mum's mate)
Mini Jubilee special edition (1977 I think it was built, used it to drive to school and work, Mum crashed it into a post box during a lesson with Dad))
Got to 17 years old and had
Triumph Dolomite Sprint with a 3.5 v8 rover engine (had it on the road for three days before someone rear ended me in Southend and wrote it off)
Mk2 Escort van with Mexico running gear, hit a badger and crashed it into a wall in Langdon Hills, write off.
1980 Mini 1000, sold when I joined up
Joined the Army at 18, moved to germany and had,
Ford Granada Mk2 (had the v8 from the dolly in it), sold it
BMW M5, had it stolen
1970 Mini Clubman 1100, sold
1984 Mini 1000, sold
1963 beetle, restored it, swapped
Alfa Romeo Sprint, disintergrated around me
MG Metro, ran to death
1976 Mini 850 with a full length sunroof, Got hit by a JCB and written off
1980 Mini Innocenti, broke for bits as the shell was too far gone
BMW 325i, sold it
Mini Van, had bits from the Metro and Innocenti fitted, sold it
De Tomoso Pantera 5.4 v8 (was an abandoned project that I swapped the beetle for, sold it to an RAF Squadron Leader)
1993 Mini Cooper, Sold it
1997 Alfa Romeo GTV, kept breaking down, traded it back for,
1998 Alfa Romeo 145 Cloverleaf, sold it for my house deposit when I moved back to Britain
1990 Cavalier GSi, horrid thing
1996 Mini Equinox (Scrappy, I still own him, currently rebuilding)
Volvo S40, commuter car plus Mini was no good for a newborn baby
Volvo V40, needed the boot for the dog, swapped for a
1993 Audi 100 S4, 20v Turbo, goes like stink. Still have it
Blimey, thats a lot, but I used to have a couple at a time, fixing one whilst driving the other. I wonder how many of them are still on the road?
