this is done to stop fuel starvation on injection models because of shape of front tank,
im running injection, i run a facet at the front that pump low pressure / high volume to the rear ,
it then goes into a swirl pot. which when full goes back the front tank.
i then at the bottom of the swirl pot have a high pressure pump that goes to a t piece with a fuel regulater on it and one goes to the engine,
the pressure in the line stays at 43psi then. and over fuel goes back to the swirl pot ,
might not help with yours but might with other peoples.

For the carbs you only need 2 or 3 psi so the R1 pump should be fine, however i use a solid state pump (one of the lower capacity ones, cant remember which) set to 2 or 3 setting on the regulator, never had any problems!
I can check which pump i have if you really need to know...

i agree - definately the lower pressure, my dad had problems with flooding, he had a solid state but was not low enough, runs great with the even lower one now

i'm running the std one mounted low in the boot it seems fine for general running and revving on the drive not taken the car out at any speed yet so i'l guess i'l find out if its emptying the float bowls, will most probably get it on a dyno asap so it can be checked in relative saftey...
