I have fitted a 1.75 inch Sportex linked to the standard exhaust system with a reducer on a 998cc

Fitting LCB, Manifold etc with a staright thorugh link pipe to a sports back box.........question is which one will

a) Sound really sporty

b) Enhance performance

Choices are

The above 1.75 Sportex

A 1.75 (poss two inch) Peco Big bore.

I have both and both are in as new condtion.

Cheers

Can't you measure the Peco one and get precise figure?

If the peco one is 1.75" fit that. Both will sound sporty (i reckon the Peco will be louder) and both will enhance performance when set-up as long as you're fitting 1.75"

2" could well hamper 'performance'

fitted the 1.75 peco centre exit to a standard exhaust system with the centre box removed, sounds sporty but not really loud as to be a chav! acceleration has improved but it used to pull to an indicted 85 with no probs now will only pull cleanly to 70mph and exceed only on a hill or slight downward slope!!!

you should adjust your carburator to match your new exhaust system, your engine is now breathing better and the mixture may not be adequate anymore

Will have a fettle with carb and update as to how its going, maniflow may well be better but as the saying goes Beggars cant be chosers!

The whole point of my mini is a second car with character on the (well) cheap, so fa its cracking!

a new needle is usually required with a upgraded exhaust.

rollin road setup to get the right one and maybe even more powers!

Bin everything you have and just buy a Maniflow Stage 1 kit from Somerford or Maniflow.

Then fit and rolling road.

(just finding a decent SU friendly RR is difficult)
