I have searched and found a few helpful tips but all to no avail. I bought one puller a universial so not that great and it died under the pressure. Now have another but am still unable to remove the bloody thing!

It's on a 998 engine 1991 the flywheel is loose behing the clutch and is wobbleing but i cannot remove the rest of it and am loosing faith.

Iv'e tightened it up as much as possible with 6 foot on breaker bar smaked it with big hammers nothing it doesn't move at all. Tommorrow the angle gringer is coming out and it will be removed that way if it has too.

All i need is the gear box and the bolts from the crank that drive it anybody with any advice or anybody wants to do it for me  much appreciated thanks

if it's a verto clutch, theres a chance that it may have welded itself to the crank - meaning it's going to be VERY difficult to remove it!

I'd say leave it on there for as long as possible, every day tightening it a bit more, and giving the centre bolt (nothing else) a nice big wallop with a hammer. It'll either come off, or shear something!

An oxyacetylene torch should get it off. You may have to pay an engineering shop to do it though.

Key plate definitely removed? Crank in removal position?

Leave something under it to catch it while leaving the breaker on it, they can damage themselves if they hit the floor.

An use a puller designed to pull the A series clutch and not a universal one....

It's off!!!

It took a combination of methods in the end the last puller i used was for an A series engine with that nothing. So we heated it whith the puller still pulling still nothing. Then we were tapping from behing on the fly wheels while heating and pulling still nothing.

Out come Mr Grinder cut off a few chunks of metal close to the crank put the puller back on continued the leating and as we were chissiling away at it very close to the crank now it started to turn on the crank. Tightened the puller and it came off slowly. There was no Bang like described it came very very slowly bit by bit. But none the less it's off!
